MargaWeimans graduated from the Antwerp Academy of Fine Arts in 2005. After winning the i-D Award for her graduation collection, Weimans worked as a stylist for i-D magazine, took part in several exhibitions and made art installations. In 2006 the Groninger Museum started collecting and exhibiting her work. In 2008 Weimans presented her first couture collection during haute Couture week in Paris. In 2009 the Groninger Museum devoted a solo exhibition around her ‘Debut’ collection.
MargaWeimans work pushes the boundaries of fashion into architecture and art. She experiments with shapes, materials and new technologies whilst the starting point for the work is highly biographical. Dreams and ambitions inform her work as much as a quest for sublime beauty which explores the transient nature of life.
